The LaBranche Family Foundation Scholarship Award
The inaugural LaBranche Family Foundation (LFFINC) Scholarship was established by the LFFINC Board of Directors. LFFINC was founded in 2001, when the LaBranche Family was touched by an article in our neighborhood newspaper that shed light on two (2) families. Each family had a unique story; however, they shared one common thread. They felt invisible and were desperately in need of necessities during the Christmas season. As a result, we joined our community, adopted a family and so our story began.
The LFFINC became a 501(c)(3) charitable organization and hosted its first fundraiser in 2017. Due to the overwhelming generosity and support during its inaugural year, the LFFINC would like to offer a $1,000 scholarship to a Bolingbrook High School student admitted to a bachelor’s or associate’s degree granting program at an accredited college or university.
Scholarship Information
All applications are reviewed by the LLFINC Scholarship Committee and considered based on personal need, academic achievement, career goals, extracurricular activities and character. The total amount of scholarship money that will be awarded in 2018 is $1,000.
Applicants must not be related by blood or marriage to a LLFINC board or committee member.
Scholarship Qualifications
To qualify for the LFFINC Scholarship, all applicants must be:
- A current Bolingbrook High School Senior
- On track to graduate in June 2018
- Admitted to an undergraduate or associates degree granting program at an accredited college or university
Applicant
Please submit an essay about your background, educational goals, career goals and how this scholarship will help you achieve those goals. Your essay should be a minimum of one page, double-spaced and not to exceed two pages in length. Include academic and/or activity achievements and cumulative grade point average (GPA). Copies of high school transcript (official or unofficial) and two (2) letters or recommendation are required.
All 2018 candidates must be a student of Bolingbrook High School.

The application deadline for the 2018 LFFINC Scholarship is April 30th, 2018 by 5pm.
The LFFINC Scholarship Committee will review all applications and select a winner. Applicants will be notified no later than May 31st, 2018.
The LFFINC Scholarship Committee reserves the right to extend the application deadline.
